March Update:

Debates of the Senate
3rd Session - 40th Parliament - Volume 147 - Number 2
On March 4, 2010, Senator Tommy Banks of Edmonton asked the Leader of the Government in the Senate to "find out and tell us whether a recommendation for the use of Avastin for the treatment of brain cancer, and specifically for glioblastoma, has been received by Health Canada and provide us with a general indication of when Health Canada might make decisions in that regard." Here is a link to the question and the response.

Kent and I extend our deep appreciation to Senator Tommy Banks for asking this question in Parliament and for keeping us informed on the developments. We would also like to thank Parliament Analyst, Tom Smith, for his assistance in this matter, as well.

Kids Helping Kent and Deb - Ongoing in Olds
Ryan and Josh James-Wright of Olds are holding a bottle drive to help raise money for Kent's medical fund, as follows:

KENT PANKOW grew up here in OLDS
HE NEEDS OUR HELP. He is fighting cancer; his medicine costs LOTS OF MONEY!!! Save your cans and bottles and put them towards his treatment. HELP US HELP DEB AND KENT !!! For bottle pick up or to get involved .... Call RYAN AND JOSH at 403-559-8099.

Check out the picture of these two cuties who are "workin' the room" for their buddy, Kent. Can someone please tell me why young people like Caleb, Ryan and Josh are taking more leadership and responsibility for Kent's Avastin treatments than the Ministry of Alberta Health and Wellness?!! Ooooohhhhmmmm...

Kent is an old pro at helping others who are battling cancer. You should see him in action – listening, offering reassurance, discussing side effects of medications and losing your hair, giving advice and offering to take them and their family members to their first appointment at the Cross so they know where to go. Kent never hangs up the phone until he’s got them laughing. He’s simply amazing…
